IBS 2024 Show Home in Finishing Stages

The flagship exhibit of the upcoming International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, The New American Home® 2024 is in the final phase of construction. The build team has been working in overdrive as it prepares the home to make its official debut to IBS 2024 attendees February 27-29.

“At any given time, we have 40 to 60 guys working around the house,” said Tim Unick, senior project manager at Sun West Custom Homes. “The work that our team is doing — with the partnerships, with the [Leading Suppliers Council] members, the sponsors, our own team and our trade partners — it couldn’t have gone any better.”

The 2024 show home returns to the familiar, luxury-home community of Ascaya in Henderson, Nev., site of three previous editions of The New American Home (2019, 2020 and 2023). But the 2024 edition distinguishes itself with an extensive list of new products and eye-catching design elements.

One such feature is a unique stone application that is prominently featured on the interior walls. The stone matches the home’s façade and is intended to blend with the natural landscape surrounding the property.

Many other innovations are not as visible to the naked eye but will significantly enhance comfort and boost energy efficiency. Among them, a unique system of waterproofing and floor-heating products from Schluter were integrated throughout the master bedroom and bathroom. (Watch the video below for a sneak peak.)

Like many other builders across the country, the build team of The New American Home 2024 has had to overcome a variety of challenges stemming from product delays. The project has managed to stay on schedule thanks to a crew that has embraced working extra hours at a fast pace to reach the finish line.

“It’s like [driving] on cruise control at 130 mph in traffic,” Unick said. “It’s been crazy but it’s amazing. We’re excited to see this project finish and share it with everyone who has been involved.”
